Almonds are one of the most popular edible tree nuts in the world. US produces almost 70% of worlds almonds and Californian almonds are most popular. Californian Almonds are very nutritious and are rich in anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals and healthy fats and hence can be named as super food.

It is better to soak almonds and remove their peels before having them. Peel contains a chemical called tannin which inhibits nutrient absorption. Once it is removed it helps the nutrient absorption.
